Jackpot Jukebox: A 1950s Casino Event at New Pond Village
On April 24, 2025, New Pond Village turned back the clock for an unforgettable afternoon that transported guests to the nifty 1950s! Our senior living community hosted Jackpot Jukebox, a high-energy casino event where guests experienced the vibrant lifestyle that makes New Pond Village one of the top retirement communities in MA.
From the moment guests walked through our doors, they were greeted by era-inspired décor: neon jukebox lights, fuzzy dice and flower arrangements that looked like strawberry milkshakes! Residents, associates and guests fully embraced the theme, donning poodle skirts, cat-eye glasses, leather jackets and slicked-back hair.
Casino Cruisin’ in Style
Our on-site cocktail bar, the Village Club, transformed into a lively Las Vegas-style casino. Guests tried their luck at blackjack, roulette and three-card poker, all played with funny money. As the chips flew and the laughter grew, guests enjoyed signature cocktails like the Nifty Fifties Dirty Martini and the Swingin’ Sloe Gin Fizz or kept it cool with retro soda pop. It was a true cruise through nostalgia—high rollin’ and rockin’ all the way to the live tunes of the Backtrack band!
The Doo-Wop Diner Experience
Meanwhile, our casual dining venue, the Bistro, reinvented itself as the Doo-Wop Diner. Pink Ladies and paper-hatted associates served up era-inspired fare prepared by the talented Chef Lacey, including wagyu and Beyond sliders, classic French fries and crispy onion rings. At the Hershey’s Milkshake Bar, guests chose between very vanilla, double chocolate and classic strawberry shakes—every sip packed with retro charm.
A Glimpse Into Community Life
Throughout the afternoon, guests were invited to hop through the community with tours of our beautiful campus and get a firsthand look at what makes life at New Pond Village so fulfilling.
And of course, no trip to the 1950s would be complete without a sweet send-off! Guests left with goodie bags filled with nostalgic treats like Cracker Jacks, Tootsie Rolls, candy cigarettes, caramel bars and even colorful Jell-O squares.
