A Swinging Good Time: Retirement Revelry in the Roaring ’20s

New Pond Village was recently transported back in time to the glamorous era of Prohibition during its ‘Roaring ’20s Revelry: Drink, Play and Mingle’ event. As guests stepped into the clandestine speakeasy, they were greeted by a world alive with the spirit of the Roaring ’20s.

The atmosphere was electric as attendees mingled, making new friends, exchanging “funny money” for chips and trying their luck at classic casino games. The blackjack and craps tables were bustling as cards were dealt, dice rolled and bets were eagerly placed.

Charleston the Night Away

The sultry sounds of live jazz music filled the air setting the perfect backdrop for the evening that kept toes tapping while attendees learned the iconic steps of the Charleston. The champagne flowed and signature cocktails including bourbon sidecar, bee’s knees and old fashioned stole the spotlight. Crafted with expert precision, each sip evoked the clandestine thrill of the Prohibition era, leaving guests entranced in nostalgia.

Meanwhile, the buffet was a feast for the senses, overflowing with an abundance of culinary delights crafted by Food and Beverage Director, Lacey Rainey and her talented team. From decadent hors d’oeuvres to sumptuous entrees, every bite was a masterpiece. And let’s not forget about the desserts—delicious macaroons and sweet petit fours tempted guests with their irresistible flavors, adding the perfect finishing touch to an unforgettable evening.

Puttin’ on the Ritz

Highlights included a guided tour of our campus, including the exclusive Ritz floor plan. The Ritz, a three-bedroom apartment home, lives up to its name with its spaciousness, quality and elegance. Boasting a large deck, generous living/dining area and three comfortable bedrooms, including an extra-large primary bedroom with an en suite bath and walk-in closet, The Ritz promises a luxurious lifestyle.

It was a celebration of the past, a tribute to the spirit of the Jazz Age and an evening that would be fondly remembered for years to come as prospective residents savored the experience of New Pond Village, forging connections with associates and residents alike, and gaining a taste of what life would be like here.
