Seniors at New Pond Village take on Winter Olympics challenge
In celebration of the Winter Olympics, independent living residents at New Pond Village, a Boston-area senior living community, are participating in an Olympic themed fitness challenge.
Independent living residents are taking a more competitive attitude to their regularly scheduled fitness classes as they compete in teams and individual competitions, reinventing some of the Winter Olympics favorites with an indoor, senior-friendly twist. Residents at New Pond Village kick-off their Winter Olympics with an opening ceremony and mock torch lighting.
Reinventing the New England and Olympic favorite – ice hockey, residents carefully aim their tennis balls to score a goal and pass the stick to their awaiting teammate.
Enjoying an important part of the Winter Olympics, snow, residents compete in a snow ball competition aiming at targets across the room.
