Senior Living in Massachusetts: The Joy of Community and Connection
A community with award-winning Independent Living and a secure plan for tomorrow.

There comes a time when the house feels a little too quiet and the to-do list a little too long. When you’re ready for something more—more connection, more ease, more possibility. That’s when many begin exploring senior living communities, not just as a change in address, but as a new way to live.
At New Pond Village, a continuing care retirement community in Walpole, Massachusetts, you’ll find more than a beautiful place to call home. You’ll find independence, peace of mind and a welcoming community that makes it easy to feel like you belong.
What if your next chapter offered not just comfort, but connection? Not just security, but joy?
Friends Live Here
Connection isn’t just a possibility at New Pond Village, it’s a way of life. Whether it’s your next door neighbor or a friendly face in the hallway, friendships form quickly and run deep. Get to know a few of the incredible individuals who help make our community such a special place:
Shirley H.: Spreading Joy One Stitch at a Time
Known for her warmth and infectious positivity, resident Shirley H. is often found floral arranging, painting or knitting beautiful hats for newborn babies at Sturdy Health. She shares her apartment home with her beloved cat, Sophie.
“The day I moved in, it felt like home,” Shirley says. “I brought everything I needed and wanted. The memories I have are with me, not with my old home or the street my family and I grew up on.”
Celeste H.: Art Meets Heart
Resident Celeste H. brings color and culture to New Pond Village through her lifelong love of botanical art. She first picked up watercolor brushes at Wellesley College, later earning a certificate in botanical art that blends scientific detail with artistic beauty. A member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, Celeste has exhibited her work across New England—including right here in the community. When she’s not painting, you’ll find her tending her garden or lost in a good book, always drawing inspiration from nature.

Phil S.: The Unofficial Mayor of New Pond Village
Always ready with a wave and a warm welcome, resident Phil S. is a beloved fixture in the community. But his connection to New Pond Village runs deep—before moving in, Phil actually worked here at New Pond Village in security and transportation after retiring from a long career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Born in Walpole on the very same day New Pond Village would open decades later, Phil’s journey has come full circle. His friendly spirit and deep roots make him the heart of the community.
New Pond Village truly feels like home because of neighbors like these. Shirley, Celeste and Phil are just a few of the many friendly faces who bring warmth and character to life at New Pond Village. Residents and associates alike often say the best part of this community is how welcoming and kind everyone is.
With countless ways of getting involved, from clubs to events to everyday activities, it’s easy to meet more great people and feel right at home.
