Ask anyone at New Pond Village what makes the community a Boston Magazine’s Top Senior Living and Care Community and they’ll likely say the same thing: “it’s the people.”

For the third year in a row, New Pond Village has made the list, which is based on communities’ federal and state regulatory ratings, online reviews and overall public perception. Set on the banks of Willet Pond in the heart of Walpole, Massachusetts, New Pond Village is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) offering a full continuum of care, concierge services and an engaging, vibrant lifestyle.

What Is It Like to Live at New Pond Village?

“Being here, we feel so well taken care of,” said resident Charlie Peck, who moved to the community with his wife Steffi two years ago. The couple appreciates not having to worry about clearing snow or searching for things to do.

“There’s never a dull moment,” noted Steffi, with Charlie adding, “The outstanding thing about this place is the people. Not just the people who run it—it’s the people who live here.”

How Do Residents Stay Active and Connected?

New Pond Village is known for its warm, friendly atmosphere, beautiful grounds and exceptional dining. Residents can head into Boston for cultural outings or stay engaged right on campus with gardening, painting, music clubs and more.

It’s also a welcoming place for pet owners—four-legged residents are part of the community, too.

“We’re a very friendly and upbeat community,” says Campus Executive Director Adam Manchester. “Even those who don’t own a pet make a connection when they’re greeted in the hallway by a wagging tail.”

What’s Next for New Pond Village?

Strong interest in the community has led to an exciting milestone—its first major expansion in more than 30 years. Groundbreaking later this year will introduce 39 new apartment homes along with enhanced amenities, including a pool and expanded dining and fitness options.

Get to Know the Community Before You Call It Home

Through New Pond Village’s Premier Access Club, future residents on the waitlist can begin enjoying the community before they move in. Members can attend events, dine on campus and even stay overnight in guest accommodations—experiencing daily life firsthand.

“It’s a very comfortable place with lots of good people,” said resident Celeste Hurley. “We enjoy each other.”

In addition to Boston Magazine’s Top Senior Living list, New Pond Village has also been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its Independent Living neighborhood—further reinforcing its reputation for quality and resident satisfaction.

Good cheer lives here.
